There are many places to explore on the east coast of Istria such as Kavran, Krnica, Barban and Rakalj. The coastline is more rugged and is best explored by boat, however it is possible to access small bays and pebble beaches by foot and road. The apartments for rent in this area are all within a 15 minute drive from Pula airport and the center of Pula is only 20 minutes away by car. If you are looking to explore Istria then a hire car is recommended. The east coast of Istria is connected by road and by bus but the infrastructure is not as good as that of the west coast and all connections would be via Pula, Barban or Labin. The east coast area is a lot quieter and less touristy than other parts of Istria. Barban is located in the valley of Rasa in the South-East of Istria, Barban is 28 km North-East of Pula, Barban is 10 km West of Labin and 5 km from the sea. Barban`s nearest airport is Pula International which is 25 km away. The municipality of Barban encompasses an area of 100 km2 containing 73 villages and hamlets with a total population of 2802 inhabitants. Kavran offers peace and tranquillity with its Mediterranean vegetation, crystal clear waters of the Adriatic and stunning views across the Kvarner Bay. From its 157meter height it is also possible to see the mountains of Ucka in the North as well as Cape Kamenjak in Premantura located at the most Southerly tip of Istria. The village of Kavran has 2 restaurants, a bar ,a church and a small supermarket shop. The immediate surrounding area around Kavran offers several restaurants and Vineyards Kavran Barban

There are many places to explore in and around the east coast of Istria highly recommended is the Glavani adventure park which is the tripadvisor.co.uk number 1 attraction in Istria
On the way to Glavani adventure park you will pass through the village of Manjadvorci where you will find a large and well equipped hoarse riding stables called Ranch Barba Tone. Manjadvorci is 18 km from Pula and is just off the main Pula - Labin road
