Pula is located in the South of Istria in Croatia. It is a city steeped in history and is home to the 6th largest  pula amphitheatre in the world as well as many other Roman artefacts.

Pula's  birth rate is 1.795 per cent and its mortality rate is 1.014 per cent with a natural population increase of -0.219 per cent and vital index of 78.45.There are approximately 62,000 people living in Pula and the immediate area surrounding it

Pula has an average insolation of 2,316 hours per year or an average 6.3 hours per day. Pula has an average air temperature of 13.2° C (6.1°C in February to 26.4°C in July and August) and sea oscillation from 7 to 26°C.

Languages - Residents are commonly fluent in foreign languages, especially Italian, often also German and English.

The main pula beach in Pula is located in the Stoja and Veruda area. Pula is surrounded by coastal tourists villages such as Medulin, Liznjan, Pomer, Premantura, Fazana, and Peroj, all of which are just a 10 minute drive away and connected by road and by a frequent bus service

Pula has an International airport and the city is also connected by road, rail and sea.

The main nightclub in Pula is Rock club Uljanik. Centar Pula. 19.00 - 04.00 h   www.clubuljanik.hr There is also Rock Cafe Club and bar in Pula with over 400 live  concerts and over 30 stand up shows.

There are 3 main radio stations in Pula and they are

Radio Maestral. Frequency 95.4 MHZ. Daily news in English at 4pm, 4.15 pm the News  in German. 4.30 pm the News  in Italian and at 4.45pm  the  News in Czech language.

Radio Pula. Frequency 101.3 MHZ.The news in Englsih, Italian, Slovenian and German language  daily at 9.30 am, 11.30 am, 2.30 pm, and 5.30 pm.

Arena Radio. Frequency 95.0 MHZ. Plays mostly music

It is possible to listen to the world service in Istria. You will need  Short Wave radio to receive the signal, They are difficult to buy here so if you really want to listen to Aston Villa  win the league and F.A cup again then you will need to bring one with you.

Money in Pula

In Croatia you will often see for sale signs advertising products for sale in Euro's such as real estate, vehicle hire and accommodation. However all transactions in Croatia and Pula must be made in Kuna, the national currency of Croatia. The word Kuna is an animal from the Marten family, a carnivorous animal

Kuna bank notes are 10,20,50,100,200,500,and 1,000

The Kuna can be exchanged at most hotels, banks, exchange offices, post offices, travel agencies, camps and marinas.

The majority of shops, restaurants and hotels accept all the main credit cards.

Cash dispensing machines are common in most cities in Croatia and dispenses money in Kuna
